Well not really, but a little. So I have had our process time planned since January. I planned every rehearsal date (including when we need a title, press picture, music pitches etc) and every set. I gave this all to the cast in advance so we could make plans and lock in our needs. But like some famous person once said “life is what happens when you make plans”
So we did have a set planned on this Saturday May 5 at CIC but Kevin McDonald of Kids In The Hall is going to be a special guest star in our showcase that night bumping all other acts. I can’t be mad, that is great for the theater. But it does leave me with a hole in my process. You see that was a set I wanted to use to test stuff we really might shape for the show. Not that other sets are just filler, but this specific audience is the closest to what I think we will draw. So it was important. I can get us up at No Shame to make up the time, but it’s not the same type of audience so you get a different read on the material.
CIC offered me a midnight show after KMac but I am pretty sure that is a tough act to follow, and it will be met with all kinds of “hell no” but I will ask em today.
